Description

Assam tea is a type of black tea traditionally grown in Assam, a region in northeastern India (near the Bangladesh-Myanmar border) and one of the largest tea-producing regions in the world. The aroma and taste of this type of black tea is like malt (beer) and it has a light color. Fresh Assam tea leaves are dried after harvesting. In the next step, they are subjected to high temperature so that the oxidation process is completed on them and they are dried. This process creates chemical changes in the leaves and causes the unique taste and special color of this type of black tea. The nature and temperament of Assam black tea is cold and dry. Assam black tea is rich in antioxidants, flavonoids, thiamin, theoflavin, catechin and caffeine.
